Well, I’ve officially signed up for a race. It’ll be my first out here on the west coast, as well as my first 15K.
For whatever reason, I’ve preferred to run either short (as in a 5K) or just go for the longer distances (half marathon or marathon). So even though I’ve been running for several years, I’ve never done a 10K or 15K.
I’m excited to run it, especially as any finish time will be a PR. But at the same time, I’ve never really trained myself for the 9-10 mile distance. Not sure if I’ll be solid or not on this one. However, I’m told the course is fun except for the hills. Luckily, I’ve been running hills for a few weeks now so I feel pretty solid to test racing on them now.
Also, the shirt for this race is actually a technical hoodie. It’s the http://www.hotchocolate15k.com/ and I look forward to all the chocolate. Won’t feel bad about it since I’m racing hehe.
It’s a little pricier than I’d normally spend on a race (or rather, I could run a half for this price), but I figured doing a fun event and spoiling myself every once in a while is okay.
Just for fun I’ll test myself out this weekend. Otherwise, wish me luck with my first 15K!
